A multi-sport athlete from Emmetsburg, Iowa. I had the privilege of playing high school football for legendary coach Duane Twait while starring in football, basketball, and track & field. I continued my athletic and academic career at Buena Vista University, competing in four years of collegiate football under Coach Joe Hadachek while also running track & field for the Beavers.
I concluded my football career as Buena Vista’s all-time leader in punt return yards, second in interceptions, and established multiple track & field records. By recognition of my accomplishments as a student-athlete, I was inducted into the Buena Vista University Hall of Fame in 2018.
For the past 25 years, I have dedicated my career to coaching both football, track & field, and basketball at the high school and collegiate levels. Much of that time has been spent serving
as a Head Track & Field Coach and Defensive Coordinator in football, helping develop competitive programs and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. I have developed multiple individual state championships, all-conference performers, and All-Americans in track & field and football while being a part of successful teams and programs.
I currently serve as the Head Track & Field Coach at Fort Collins High School and have been the Defensive Coordinator for the football program for the past two years. I am excited to step into the role as the Head Football Coach at FCHS and continue the proud tradition established over the past forty years by Coach Yemm, Rice, and Monty.
My wife, Anne, is a proud graduate of Fort Collins High School, and we are blessed with three children: Emmet (15), Althea (12), and Joseph (10).
